Introducing the Clutch Masters DCT flywheel for the Audi RS3 and DQ500 transmission. This flywheel is a ground up design built around the OE flywheel specs. Unlike the factory flywheel that fails when you start to modify and increase the output of the 2.5L Turbo 5-cylinder engine, the Clutch Masters flywheel is designed to handle seriously high-powered setups.
Clutch Masters first focused on making the hub as strong as possible to be able to handle as much torque as they could possible engineer into it. In their computer simulation stress analysis tests, the hardened 4140 billet steel hub is showing it is capable of handling up to 3500 ft/lbs of torque before failure. That is over 3x more torque capacity then other options available today.
With the hub dialed in, the rest of the components were built around it to fit within the exact same dimensions of the OE flywheel. This flywheel is dampened as well with 12 heavy duty springs that include 2 hardened spring inserts that allow the spring to work right up to its fully collapsed state and then the inserts bottom out on each other. Also implemented is a UHWM wear plate on the top and bottom of the hub to prevent the hub from any direct metal to metal contact. The flywheel is o-ring sealed and packed with grease to keep the springs lubricated and allow for some heat to be dissipated from the springs into the grease. The flywheel is assembled with ARP bolts. Clutch Masters built this flywheel to last and withstand the rigors of daily driving and hit after hit at the dragstrip, but should you need to, it is completely rebuildable and serviceable.
This is by far the most robust flywheel available for the Audi RS3 available on the market today.
This flywheel will also work on other Audi and VW engine applications using the same crank bolt pattern as the RS3 such as the 2.0L turbo engines when swapping over to a DQ500 transmission.

– Billet 1018 steel bottom plate and top plate
– Billet 4140 heat treated steel hub
– Welded on ring gear
– ARP flywheel bolts (custom made for this application)
– Surface lock diamond plated friction washer for flywheel to crank surface protection
