Hard Anodizing:
Hard anodizing enhances component integrity in critical areas such as the ring lands and the piston skirts and also increases heat resistance. Another benefit is prevention of micro-welding between the ring grooves and piston rings, which allows for tighter ring-to-groove clearance and better ring sealing characteristics.

These pistons also utilize a PTFE coating to act as a glide barrier that protects the bore & skirt in low oil situations and lowers overall friction.

DLC Coated Pins:
-DLC coating provides an extremely low coefficient of friction, minimizing the wear and heat generated between the wrist pin, piston, and connecting rod. 
-DLC coating offers superior protection against wear and galling, especially in high-power engines.

These are high-end race pistons for extreme applications. They are recommended only for sleeved blocks. The block should be final honed based on the measured dimensions of these pistons for proper piston to wall clearance.
